How to Play Kyxa
Joining a Room
Choose a room name and a player name. When two players use the same room name, they play against each other. Names must be less than 15 characters using only letters, numbers, and spaces. Use "vs The Blob" as the room name to play the computer.
Choosing Colors
Select two colors, a main color and a secondary color. The colors must be distinguishable from each other. If both players choose similar main colors, the second player will have his main and secondary colors switched.
Starting Game
After filling out the form, click "Connect" to enter a room. When both players have entered a room, a board with a random layout will be generated.
Selecting a Piece
On his turn, a player can select a piece by clicking on it.
Selecting a Move
Once selected, a piece can be moved by clicking on an empty, adjacent tile. A piece can only be moved one square over in a single turn and cannot be moved diagonally.
Submitting Moves
A player can select moves for any or all of his pieces in a single turn. To move the selected pieces, click the "Submit" button.
Wrapping
The game board is continuous, so a piece moved off one edge will wrap around to the other side.
Lights
At the end of each turn, some lights may turn on at random.
Gaining Pieces
At the end of his turn, if a player has a chain of pieces connecting two lights which are on, the player will gain more pieces. Initially, they will be stacked on top of other pieces and must be downstacked.
Downstacking
To make use of stacked pieces, a player has to downstack them by moving them to adjacent tiles.
Losing Stacked Pieces
Any pieces which are not downstacked on the next turn will be lost.
Winning
If a player, at the end of his turn, has a chain of pieces connecting five or more lights which all turn on, he wins the game.
